The Princess ::

For those who don't know me (namely, on L's side), first and foremost, I am a daughter of the King. Christ is the center of my life and my purpose.  I'm from Northeast TN, born and raised. Also, a nursing student who FINALLY graduated in May 2010 :). My parents are back in TN, and my younger brother is in the Air Force. We have the world's goofiest dog, Mocha. If you meet her, you will know what I mean. I have always known I was meant to have a pretty adventurous life, but didn't know what it was going to entail. I want to use my skills as a nurse for physical healing and want to incorporate my faith for spiritual healing, I have just been waiting on God to show me what that is going to look like. Enter L :D. My world is now beautifully turned upside down with many changes on the verge of occurring. I'm excited to see where God takes us...

Oil Field Trash ::  I just want to tell y'all about this wonderful man in my life...

L is an extremely talented man who loves the Lord more than anything. Before moving out to North Dakota to work in the oil industry, he was a youth/music minister in Knoxville. Also, he worked as contractor for several years. He had an awesome worship band, who was really hard to leave when he moved. His heart is in music and worship. He's written many worship songs from his heart and its a big part of what I love about him. He also has a big heart for teens who are considered outcasts or the not-so-popular. This is only a smidgen of the man I'm calling L :). I hope all of y'all get to have the honor of knowing him.

How we met  ::

This is the part I don't like...but God takes my failings and brings good from them. He found me on a website (honestly, I can't remember the name of it). I had been treating any emails I got from it as spam, but he looked about my age and he asked if I would text him because he didn't get on that site much either. I had no idea about him except he was 22 and from a town close to me. I texted him and what actually got me interested was 2 things: 1. he immediately asked me what I wanted, I said an Ephesians 5 husband (no time for dating games), he said that was exactly what he wanted, an Eph 5 wife. 2. he said he was a youth/music minister. That to me showed me he was serious about the Christian life. I hadn't seen that much and it had made me jaded.

Anyway we talked on the phone that night, and either the next or the next after that, he decided to drive up to hang out on my study break for a couple hours. He was already at Starbucks when I got there. When I saw him, there was definite attraction and chemistry, but I tried to play it cool because I was still really skeptical. Let's just say the time flew. Listening to his story and his heart made me respect him and to see where this thing could go. What made me respect him even more was that he respected me and my honor (still does :D ). He shook my hand as we parted ways instead of hugging or even trying to kiss me.

Not long after that, he met my parents at Perkins, gave his story and we asked them to be praying with us for wisdom in how we should pursue a relationship. L wanted to court me, again never met a "cool" guy who wanted to do the courtship thing. That attracted me to him even more. Before Christmas, he asked my parents permission to court me. Throughout this entire relationship (which hasn't been long) we have had people praying for us and have sought out godly counsel from married couples. We both knew early on that this was probably "it" and we wanted to make sure we did it right. God has blessed us tremendously because of that!

The rest of the story ::

We are now in what feels like the middle of nowhere out west, the last place on earth (besides Asia) that I thought I'd ever be. I'm an RN at the local nursing home - definitely not my preference but its fine for now, and he busts his butt on field. Not sure what God's gonna lay before us the next few years we are out here, but we are trying our best to keep our hearts and minds open.
